Jericho To Be Made Into Movie

U.S. TV drama Jericho is set for a comeback - a big screen version of the short lived series is under development.

The show, a portrayal of America post-nuclear attacks, was scrapped by network CBS after its first full season due to poor ratings.

But a campaign by a devoted group of fans convinced network executives to bring the show back for a seven-episode second season, before flagging ratings once more resulted in the series being cancelled in 2008.

But now the programme's stars, including Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott, are set to reprise their roles on the big screen, according to executive producer Jon Turteltaub.

He tells Moviehole.net, "We're developing a feature for Jericho. It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it get into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what.s going on beyond the town in Jericho."

For those of you you've never seen it, Season One is now officially available to watch on in Widescreen and Youtube high quality.

Fuck, I go to bed at awkward times, and wake up to find that everything is closing. Circuit city, this store, and who knows what else. I haven't been there much, but it sucks after 85 years they're going bye, bye.

Stacey's Is Closing

It is with great sadness that we announce that after 85 years in business Stacey’s will be closing its doors in March 2009. While the store generates over $4 million in sales, increasing expenses and steadily decreasing sales have compelled the owners to decide to vacate before the current lease expires in 2011. We have wonderful and loyal customers and had hoped to stick it out until our lease expired in 2011, but conditions in the past few months have compelled us to close sooner rather than later.

Fango learned this afternoon that two more great actors have left us.
Patrick McGoohan is best known to horror fans as Dr. Paul Ruth in David Cronenberg's 1981 classic, SCANNERS, while general audiences will remember his performance as THE PRISONER.

Ricardo Montalban struck a chord with readers of our sister mag, STARLOG for his portrayal of STAR TREK's villainous Khan, while his early work included appearances on ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS.

Both men died of natural causes. McGoohan was 80, Montalban, 88.

LOS ANGELES – Majel Barrett Roddenberry, "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry's widow who nurtured the legacy of the seminal science fiction TV series after his death, has died. She was 76. Roddenberry died of leukemia Thursday morning at her home in Bel-Air, said Sean Rossall, a family spokesman.

At Roddenberry's side were family friends and her son, Eugene Roddenberry Jr.

Roddenberry was involved in the "Star Trek" universe for more than four decades. She played the dark-haired Number One in the original pilot but metamorphosed into the blond, miniskirted Nurse Christine Chapel in the original 1966-69 show. She had smaller roles in all five of its television successors and many of the "Star Trek" movie incarnations, although she had little involvement in the productions.

She frequently was the voice of the ship's computer, and about two weeks ago she completed the same role for the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie "Star Trek," Rossall said.

Roddenberry also helped keep the franchise alive by inspiring fans and attended a major "Star Trek" convention each year, Rossall said.

"I think `Star Trek' will always be her legacy," Rossall said.

"Star Trek" and its successors often focused on political and philosophical issues of the day. Roddenberry and her husband, who died in 1991, believed in creating "thoughtful entertainment" and were proud of the show and the passionate devotion of its fans, Rossall said.

"My mother truly acknowledged and appreciated the fact that `Star Trek' fans played a vital role in keeping the Roddenberry dream alive for the past 42 years. It was her love for the fans, and their love in return, that kept her going for so long after my father passed away," her son said in a statement on the official Roddenberry Web site.

Born Majel Lee Hudec on Feb. 23, 1932, in Cleveland, she began taking acting classes as a child. She had some stage roles, then in the late 1950s and 1960s had bit parts in a few movies and small roles in TV series, including "Leave It to Beaver" and "Bonanza."

She met her husband in 1964 during a guest role for a Marine Corps drama he produced called "The Lieutenant." That same year, she was cast in the pilot for the "Star Trek" series as the no-nonsense second-in-command. The pilot did not appeal to NBC executives and a second pilot was made, although parts of the original later showed up in a two-part episode called "The Menagerie."

The couple married in Japan in 1969 after "Star Trek" was canceled. After her husband's death, Roddenberry continued her involvement with the "Star Trek" franchise.

She also was the executive producer for two other TV science fiction series, "Andromeda" and "Earth: Final Conflict."

I finally got to see this movie (came out in a VERY LIMITED audience back in 2006). But after watching it, I think it works pretty well. It's strange in some spots, but considering a lot of the comedy garbage that's been churned out over the years. It will definitely end up being one of those underrated gems that will gain an audience over time.

Don't get me wrong, I love turkey as much as the next person. But what the fuck was Palin thinking in giving an interview behind some turkey slaughtering going on?

I mean, anyone in their right mind would have just said "can we interview away from this kind gentleman doing his work?", with a wink and a nod.

Instead, I just found it hilarious to just watch her going on with blah, blah blah (all the while Mr. turkey guy in the background is just in the background doing God knows what to that turkey).
